Europe - April 2008

April 2008

In April 2008 Betsy and I took a three week trip to Europe. The primary purpose of our trip was to go to the wedding of our friend's Claire and Kevin. They were married in the Cotswold's area of England. It was a beautiful wedding and we had a great time and were glad to be a part of their special day. All the best to Kevin and Claire.

Since we were flying all the way to Europe we figured we might as well tack a vacation on to the trip. After much consternation and discussion of where to go we decided that the south of Spain would be a good destination. WIth about 9 days to spend there we decided to go to three cities that are UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

We ended up spending three days in Granada, 2 days in Cordoba and 3 days in Seville. The highlight of Granada is the Alahambra an amazingly large Moorish castle that perches over the city. In Cordoba the UNESCO site is the Mezquita which has alternately been a mosque and a cathedral and in Seville the highlights are the Alcazar an old Muslim Palace and the Cathredral said to be one of the largest in the world.

We followed this up with a couple of days in London to end our trip. It was a great trip though went by far too quickly and reminded us of how much we missed living in Europe and being able to travel so easily.
