This is the entrance to Petra. Naabatean city carved out of the cliff face 2000 years ago. The Siq is a 1.2km (.75 mi) corridor that was used to enter the city. It varies in width from a couple of metres to 5-6 metres and the cliff walls are up to 200 m (600ft) high. Quite an impressive entrance and definitely a tough place to attack.
